This website is run by Croydon Tree Surgeon. We are the "data controller" for the personal information described in this policy, which means we decide how and why it is used.

We don't ask for sensitive information such as health data, and ask that you don't include any in your messages or photos.

We don't make decisions about you using fully automated processing. The calculator gives a guide based on the answers you enter, and a person confirms every quote. We don't use your details for marketing unless you ask us to.
We don't sell your personal information. These are the providers that handle it on our behalf, because of how this website works:

We also share information where we need to: with Croydon Council, only with your agreement, to prepare a tree works application or notice; with professional advisers and insurers; with authorities if the law requires it; and with a buyer if the business is sold.
Some of these providers may process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
5. How Long We Keep It

We delete or anonymise information when we no longer need it.
6. Your Rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to be informed about how we use your data; to access a copy of it; to correct inaccurate information; to ask us to erase it or restrict its use in certain circumstances; to object to us using it based on legitimate interests; and, where it applies, to data portability. To use any of these rights, contact us at the address above. We'll respond within one month, and we may need to confirm your identity. There's normally no charge.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
7. Cookies
This site doesn't set cookies of its own. If we add analytics or advertising later, we'll update this section and ask for your consent first.
8. Photos You Send Us
If you send photos, please avoid including people, vehicle number plates or other personal details where you can. Photos may contain location data. We use them only to assess and quote your job and as part of any council application you've asked us to make, and we don't publish them without your permission.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No online system is completely secure, so please take care what you send. If there's a data breach likely to put you at risk, we'll tell you and, where required, the ICO.
10. Children
This website is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
11. Links to Other Sites
Our pages link to external sites such as council and government pages. We aren't responsible for their privacy practices.
12. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date shows the latest version.
